Passengers in Northern Ireland will once again be able to avail of direct flights to Doncaster-Sheffield Airport thanks to a new arrival at George Best Belfast City Airport.

The service between Belfast City Airport and Robin Hood Doncaster-Sheffield Airport will be operated by UK regional airline, LinksAir, and will commence on Friday 11th April 2014.

Not only is this route great for business with 2 flights per day allowing a day of meetings before returning to Belfast, it also offers a new exciting holiday option.

You can access the whole of Yorkshire by flying into Doncaster Sheffield.

The airport is about 26 miles from the centre of Sheffield, it takes about 40 minutes by car at the moment (by the end of 2015 a new road link will reduce the journey time by 15 minutes).

Sheffield is a bustling city (the 4th largest in England) with the biggest theatre complex outside London. There is a vibrant music, shopping and cultural scene. It is also very close to the beautiful Peak District.

Leeds is less than an hour from the airport by car and York just over an hour.

Doncaster is famous for its racecourse and attracts over 60,000 people to its 4 day St Leger meet.

The St Leger is the oldest of the classic races in the UK having first been run all the way back in 1776.

Yorkshire is hosting the Grand Depart – Tour de France this year and stage 2 begins in York and finishes in Sheffield on 6th July.
